Bambi, Pocahontas and Merida: First Renovated Rooms at Disney Sequoia Lodge Go on Sale
The first refurbished rooms at Disney Sequoia Lodge go on sale in mid-September, with stays starting February 19, 2027. The new design nods to Bambi, Pocahontas and Brave. The same date also brings the next construction phase – and takes the hotel's bar and shop offline.
For Disney Sequoia Lodge, this is the first visible milestone in a refurbishment that has been running since early 2026. The first completed rooms are due to go on sale in mid-September 2026, alongside the launch of Spring and Summer 2027 hotel-and-ticket packages. Guests can actually stay in them from Friday, February 19, 2027.
The timing matters. Sequoia Lodge is one of the resort's most heavily booked properties, and anyone planning a 2027 trip now has to choose between a refurbished and an unrefurbished room – with construction ongoing either way.
Three films, one forest
The new design keeps the hotel's core idea – the North American forest – but references specific films for the first time. Disneyland Paris names three:
- Bambi (1942)
- Pocahontas (1995)
- Brave (Pixar, 2012)
The resort describes the references as subtle. This is explicitly not a full retheme in the mould of Disney Hotel New York. What is promised is a brighter, more modern look that retains the property's signature wood detailing and forest character, along with modernised bathrooms featuring walk-in showers and new furniture.
Sophie Coudré, Artistic Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, described the process in the spring: full-scale model rooms were used to "validate the overall artistic direction with all the teams involved" and refine the creative choices before rolling the design out.

Why the work has barely registered so far
The first phase covers the five standalone forest lodges away from the main building – a deliberate sequencing choice, since none of the hotel's core facilities sit there and the property could keep operating close to normally. The main impact on guests to date has been reduced parking capacity.
February 19, 2027 is when it gets less comfortable
The same day the first refurbished rooms become available, work begins on the main building. Two outlets close temporarily:
- the Redwood Bar & Lounge
- the Northwest Passage shop
A temporary lobby counter is planned to cover drinks, snacks and souvenirs. The two restaurants, Hunter's Grill and Beaver Creek Tavern, are currently set to stay open, and character appearances continue at set times.
Later phases are due to cover the lobby, dining, retail and leisure areas – again with the hotel trading throughout.
Still unanswered
Disneyland Paris has not published the total number of rooms in scope, a completion date for the overall project, or whether refurbished rooms will be priced differently from existing ones. 2027 rates are not yet out either.
What it means for planning
Anyone eyeing Sequoia Lodge in 2027 has two options, each with a catch. A refurbished room from February 19 means a new standard – but a closed bar, a closed shop and work on the main building. A stay before that date means intact facilities in an unrefurbished room. Guests who want quiet and a full offering are currently better served by one of the other resort hotels.
